Julius Charles Hare letters, 1848, n.d.

The collection consists of two letters: to My dear sir, 13 Jan. 1848, about the second volume of Niebuhr, also mentioning Niebuhr's lectures and DeQuincey; to Mr. Parker, 11 March n.y., concerning a pamphlet written by his friend Mr. Abcken answering Mr. Pusey's charge against the German church, and recommending it be published in a timely fashion.

Julius Charles Hare was a British author, translator, and clergyman. A popular but eccentric man, he became Archdeacon of Lewes and one of the Queen's chaplains, as well as publishing numerous works on theological themes.
